To be fair, “The Gang Turns Black” isn’t a 50s episode. Frank doesn’t actually get to say it. For context it is a musical episode which the cast has turned into Black persons, and must face the same struggles that a Black person of color would. Frank thought it would be cool since he isn’t being seen by anyone as White, thinking he could get away with saying the word.

The best part of the episode was that it was all a dream; and not the dreams of any of the main cast, but Old Black Man’s.

Was Old Black Man the same person that Dee was forced to share a bed with because of a lost bet?

Plot twist: It was just a holodeck episode
