“Risk of escape” is a loophole you could drive a semi truck through.
Yeah someone explained that as like: individual here now could be a suspect later, we must detain them now because later on they will be escaping, from this point now. We use time travel!
That’s because this is just an illusion to appear that the judicial system is doing something. It’s not and it’s on purpose.
I suspect many judges don’t want to keep demonstrating that they have no power to enforce any of this when they are ignored by the executive.
Have you seen the shape that some of those brown-shirts are in? There’s always a chance the “suspect” will get away. Only way they’re catching anyone is without a warrant.
Yeah that’s what I’ll be screaming as they carry me away. Let’s see how well that works.
